Eating Muffins

Have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy The Importance of Being Earnest (2002)? It's been a favorite for a while because it's a sweet story with a stellar cast and it always makes me laugh!

Here's one of my favorite clips from the film that shows Colin Firth at his funniest:

"They seem to be eating muffins."

Have you seen The Importance of Being Earnest?
Do you have a favorite scene or line?

  1. After reading this play in high school, the term Bunberrying became commonplace with my friends. Good times!

  2. I've only seen the earlier one with the two Michaels in it, and that, though rather corny, was hilarious!
My favourite part is when Algernon starts eating the girls muffins towards the end, and makes the remark about eating them when he is still so that he will not get butter on his cuffs. That part ALWAYS makes me laugh. I've heard that this one your talking about is not as good as the older one, is that true?

  3. Two grown, charming, intelligent men arguing over the last muffin. What's not to love? You already chose my favorite scene!

  4. Hello!
I found your video quite funny but when I checked out the movie in your favorite movie page, it had an 'S' by it.
Could you please tell me exactly what that scene is so I can know if I'm into watching it?
    Thanks so much!

  5. Ahhh! I love this film and it really does have an amazing cast. That scene is a great one, there are so many hilarious moments in this movie, which is perhaps why I love it so much.
My favourite scene is the one about the cucumber sandwiches. I walk around for days after watching declaring at every meal that I must have a cucumber sandwich.

  6. This is probably my favorite scene in the whole film. Well, that and the scene where he brings "Earnest" home...whips the cloth off the urn. Colin Firth is amazing in this.
