ReplyDelete1. Emma Woodhouse and Mr. George
Knightly. Emma.
2. Haha, hilarious clue. Charlotte Lucas and Mr. Collins. Pride and Prejudice.
3. Marius Pontemercy and Cosette. Les Miserables.
4. Sybil. Is is Hanson or something. Downton Abbey. I dislike this series, so I haven't watched it this far...this is what I remember from reviews and such.
5.Laura Ingalls and Almonzo Wilder. Little House series. They first start to "court" sort of-A Long Winter maybe? Whatever book she starts teaching.

21.?
22.? and Dick fro, Under the Greenwood Tree.
23. David Copperfield and Agnes from David Copperfield
24. Mr. Elton and Agusta Hawkins from Emma
25. Lucy Steele and Robert Ferrars from Sense and Sensibility
I think that I might try to come back this time to try for the four I did not get.
I have no idea who the first couple in the picture might be, though I recognize the guy as being Septimus the Slimeball from Cranford. :D Looks like a Regency film, though...
ReplyDeleteThe second couple, I think, is (are?) Mr. Cheeryble and Kate Nickleby from Nicholas Nickleby-- and it must be the 2001 version because that's not Romola Garai. :D The guy kinda looks like Henry Tilney, though.
1- Emma and Mr. Knightley from Emma! Makes me inexpressibly happy that you put them first. Heehee.
2- Charlotte Lucas and Mr. Collins of P&P
3- MARIUS PONTMERCY AND COSETTE FAUCHELEVENT FROM LES MISERABLES!!!!!!!! Heehee. That made me happy. :D
4- Ermmmm... these are people from Downton Abbey, I'm sure. I'll take a stab at the lady (what a gruesome phrase) and say it's Lady Sylvia Crawley (or is it Sophia?) but I have no idea who the chauffeur might be.
5- Laura Ingalls and Almanzo Wilder from the Little House series
6- Wait, WHAT? DORCAS AND MATTHEW END UP TOGETHER????? Wowwwwww. (I'm just watching Season One of Lark Rise right now.) From Lark Rise, of course. Although... there could be another blacksmith later on, I suppose. I just can't picture Dorcas and Matthew together. Sheesh. Anyways, I'm sure the lady is Dorcas.
7- Hahahahaha. The wording of this one made me think at first that the AUNT was the charming one... hahahahahaha. Anything but. Heehee. Frank Churchill and Jane Fairfax from Emma.
8- HA! "Rich gentleman she ends up with"-- exactly, because there are no other features with which to describe the poor personality-less chap! Cynthia Kirkpatrick and Mr.... oh dear... Thompson? from Wives and Daughters.
9- Hmmm... the "great expectations" makes me think of Pip, but Estella is anything but a sweet young ward, and besides they don't get married. I'm stumped. OH! Richard and Ada from Bleak House, of course!
10- Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy from P&P.
11- Nicholas Nickleby and Madeline Bray from Nicholas Nickleby
12- Amy March and Laurie Laurence from Little Women
13- Margaret Hale and Mr. Thornton from North and South
14- TOO. MANY. LARK RISE. SPOILERS. I should NOT have played this game. Although Melody already let a bit of this slip, so I'm guessing Alf Arless and what'shername... Minnie?... from Lark Rise to Candleford.
15- Marguerite and Sir Percy from The Scarlet Pimpernel. :D
16- Amy Dorrit and Arthur Clennam from Little Dorrit
17- Diana Barry and Fred Wright from Anne of Green Gables (well, the later books, really)
18- This one has me stumped...
19- ?
20- Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth from Persuasion
21- These people are from He Knew He Was Right, I'm almost sure, but I don't know the names...
22- Under the Greenwood Tree?

Miss Laurie, I've awarded you at my blog for the Brilliant Blog Bouquet Award!
ReplyDeleteOkay, have to fill in some of the things I neglected! ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, no, it's not your 'fault' on 3. Technically it could be considered mine, because if I wanted to resist as much knowledge about that story as possible, I could. But I'm not THAT obstinate. :D
On 5, I didn't actually forget to mention a story, I just wanted to know if the couple is right... and as it is, I'm not sure, but it would be in the Little House on the Prairie series. I didn't read most of the books (shame, shame) so I'm not sure which book it actually is.
6. Lark Rise to Candleford.
9. Bleak House! I don't know why I kept forgetting to mention stories! ;)
7. Frank Churchill and Jane Fairfax from Emma. Don't know why I didn't get it before.
11. I really don't know... it isn't Our Mutual Friend, is it? Because I don't remember that the marriage would have cleared her father's debts, and when she did marry him she wasn't made to. :P But it would be Bella Wilfer and John Harmon... But I don't remember that he was a schoolteacher, either...
12. Possibly Mary and Charles Musgrove from Persuasion? o.O
18. Oh, right, this must be Benedick and Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing. I do know somewhat about the story. ;-)
25. Ooooh! YES! Lucy Steele and Robert Ferrars! Haha, I just now got it. Oh, Sense and Sensibility.
And are you sure I know the period drama/story for 21? If so, I'll think harder. ;)
Oh! Number 9 is Ada and Richard from Bleak House, right? :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and no I haven't seen Downton Abbey. But I sure know a lot about it! Haha!
ReplyDeleteAHA!
ReplyDelete#16 is Amy and Arthur from Little Dorrit. After I read your comment, it's been bugging me all evening that I didn't know it! :P
Melody,
ReplyDeleteOn #5 the book doesn't really matter, you got the story.
Your guesses on 6 (period drama), 9 (period drama), 7, 18 and 25 were correct.
Your guesses on 11 and 12 were incorrect. I know you've seen #21 but their story is a bit difficult to describe.
Your updated score is 133 points.
Petie,
Your guesses on #9 and #16 were completely correct. Your updated score is 146 points.

Okay, I think I've got them now. I just needed to systematically go through the list of period dramas I've seen (by the way, I can't tell you how many times I've referred to your period drama contestant list from the tournament in 2011... there should be another one of those :D).
ReplyDeleteAnyways.
11. Nicholas Nickleby and Madeline Bray, from Nicholas Nickleby. (I think I was a little thrown off because I was thinking the girl would have to marry the elusive schoolteacher in order to clear the debts, haha.)
12. Amy March and Theodore Laurence, yes? (Little Women)
21. Okay, I think this is Prince Turveydrop and Caddy Jellyby from Bleak House--is it?
