It's Independence Day!

We celebrate our country which we praise God was founded on Christian principals and pray for our country that the Lord would help our leaders and voters make right decisions and ultimately learn to seek Him once more.

July 4th is always a big deal for my family because not only do we get to celebrate the birth of our country but we also celebrate my brother Andy's birthday. We to do it up big by wearing our red,white and blue clothing (folks often want pictures when we go to parades) and we also always try to catch a parade and some fireworks and other festivities in our area. 

So today is Andy's 21st birthday. Happy Birthday baby brother, I love you lots and am glad I get to celebrate this doubly special day with you!

Happy Independence Day!

The Fourth of July is such a special day that my family and I enjoy celebrating every year. It's a time to get out and show our patriotism and celebrate with our fellow Americans the blessing that we have!

The day is made extra special because my younger brother Andy was born on the 4th of July and that gives us extra reason to meet with family & friends and enjoy the festivities! I can still remember the day he was born, he just made being born on the 4th by a few hours and my parents were so excited to have their own little "firecracker"! Later that day daddy took me to the parade, then I got to ride a pony at the carnival in the park, and then after buying flowers for mama we visited her and Andy in the hospital. 

My "little" brother is 20 years old today! A big Happy Birthday to Andy, I love you and seeing you grow into the man you've become! God bless you today and every day!

So I'm off to watch the parade, fireworks and to celebrate Independence Day with my family! I pray you are all blessed today!

Happy Independence Day!

I'm an American, and blessed by the Lord to live in a country where His name is regularly praised and He is still prayed to and honored in our customs. The faith of our forefather's led them to make sacrifices and forge a new life and a new system of government where they could be free to live out their religious beliefs. I thank the Lord for allowing me to live in the USA and I don't mind celebrating our independence but also pray every day that my nation will turn back to God.


My parents are both US Navy veterans which might also be part of my source of pride in our military. I pray for troops serving their country even today and ask that the Lord will comfort and bless them and their families.


The 4th of July is also my brother's birthday. He is our genuine real-live firecracker! He will be eighteen years old tomorrow and I'm very glad I have this weekend off so I can celebrate with him. We'll be making our yearly rounds of the local parade and fireworks and also check out a picnic in our state's capital hosted by our local "Tea Party" chapter. We'll also have cake and ice cream and presents for Andy. Can't wait to celebrate!
