Period Drama Couples Quiz

This game idea was suggested by birdienl after I posted the Classic Literature In Other Words game back in July. Thanks birdienl!
The concept of this game is to identify the period drama couples based on the clues given. These couples are from various period dramas and classic literature stories. Some of these couples are not what you might call main characters but all of them get engaged and/or married during the course of their story.
I have a long list of couples so I chose randomly for this game. Let me know if you like this type of game and I'll do others.

To Play: Read the clues below and leave a comment guessing which period drama couple I'm thinking of and which period drama or story they come from. Guess as many times as you wish. I'll respond with your score. The answers will be posted next Saturday.

Scoring: Four points for each correctly guessed gentleman, lady and period drama (or classic story). A total score of 180 points can be earned.

Couple Clues:

Couple #1. Honorable but shy gentleman / Reserved and practical young woman

Couple #2. Literary tomboy / European professor

Couple #3. Scholarly scientist explorer / Caring physician's daughter

Couple #4. Noble lady who keeps many secrets / Her father's new heir presumptive

Couple #5. Long reigning monarch / Princely cousin

Couple #6. Advertising governess / Master with great secrets and no beauty

Couple #7. Kindly sister and as beautiful as an angel / Handsome friendly gentleman

Couple #8. Studious blind-sighted clergyman / Sweet and gentle cousin

Couple #9. Kind gentleman who seeks his origins / Depressed opera singer he rescues

Couple #10. Young upstart with high hopes / Beautiful trained enchantress

Couple #11. High-spirited jumping girl / Melancholic poetical sailor

Couple #12. Fiery Italian youth / There is the east and she is the sun

Couple #13. Money loving socialite / Mysterious secretary

Couple #14. Physician with red cutaway / Angelic clergyman's daughter

Couple #15. Poor newspaper journalist / Sister-in-law of a foolish man

Happy guessing!

2- Jo March and Professor Bhaer (Little Women).
3- Roger Hamley and Molly Gibson (Wives and Daughters).
4- Haven't seen Downton Abbey, but I'm guessing this is Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley from that show.
5- Victoria and Albert (The Young Victoria)
6- Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester (Jane Eyre)
7- Jane Bennet and Mr. Bingley (P&P)
8- Edmund Bertram and Fanny Price (Mansfield Park). Haha, the word "clergyman" automatically made me think of Mr. Collins... dear, dear.
9- Daniel Deronda and Mirah... oh dear.. Lapidoth? Ladipoth? One of those. Haven't seen Daniel Deronda, so I'm not quite sure.
10- Pip and Estella (Great Expectations).
11- No idea with this one...
12- Romeo and Juliet (clever clue, haha!)
13- Bella Wilfer and John Harmon (Our Mutual Friend)

Fun game, as always! Do you get bonus points for guessing the couple in the picture? I wasn't sure, so I'll just say anyways that they're the prince and princess from Ever After... though I don't know their names! How embarrassing!

Melody,
Your guesses on couples 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 were completely correct. You also guessed the correct couple on #13 but forgot to mention the title of the period drama they come from (I know you know it though).
Your score is 152 points.

You would know #15 because I know you've seen it. You probably wouldn't know #4 because I know you haven't seen it.

1. Edward Ferrars and Elinor Dashwood of Sense and Sensibility
2. Jo March and Frederich Bauer of Little Women, Little Men, and Jo's Boys-I hate this couple-you can tell the author manipulated (and admitted it) the story...yes, authors can ruin stories-sometimes stories just ARE.
3. It took me embarrassingly long for this one *buries head in shame* Of course its Roger Hamley and Molly Gibson of Wives and Daughters
4.Is this Mary and Matthew of Dontown Abbey-I have not watched a single episode
5.Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The perhaps most famous queen of England's love story. (Actually this clue works for the current queen's love story as well).
6. Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester of Jane Eyre. I hated him and like St. John (thought not for her)
7. Jane Bennet and Mr. Bingley of Pride and Prejudice. "You are both so obliging nothing will ever be agreed upon..."
8. Edmund Betram and Fanny Price of Mansfield Park
9. I am guessing Les Mis is the story-I am unfamiliar with it
10.Pip and Estella of Great Expectations
11. Louisa Musgrove and Captain Benwick of Persuasion
12. This isn't Laurie and Amy of Little Women is it?
13.?
14.?
15.Waaay random guess-David Copperfield and Agnes of David Copperfield (I have skipped through but not properly read that book).
