Singing In Period Dramas Quiz

Who is playing the piano in this photo?

We haven't done a video quiz in a while so decided to make this one using songs sung in period dramas.

To Play: Watch the video and play along. Listen to the 20 clips of people singing from period dramas and leave a comment guessing which period drama the song comes from and which character(s) are singing. I'll respond with your scores. Answers will be posted next Saturday.

Scoring: Five points will be award for each correctly guessed period drama and character(s) singing. A high score of 100 Points can be earned.

Enjoy!

Very Truly Your's,

1. Emma (1996), Emma Woodhouse singing :)
2. S&S (1995), Marianne Dashwood.
3. Cranford, Jessie Brown and... and... and... er, I can't remember his name at the moment.
4. Daniel Deronda, Mirah.
5. Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel... heeheehee...I can't remember who sings it. Was it supposed to be the minister's wife? "...the buttons POPPING off her corset!"
6. Emma (A&E), Emma Woodhouse and Frank Churchill.
7. Oooh, I don't recognize this one! o.O
8. That's sooo familiar. Is it Daniel Deronda again?
9. Haha, that's Gwendolen Harleth in DD. ;)
10. Was this the people in Under the Greenwood Tree?
11. SQUEEEEEEE! Lizzy Bennet in Pride and Prejudice (1995). In the best scene. :D
12. I don't think I've ever heard this. Though I remember Marianne Dashwood singing a tiny bit of it in S&S08 before she went running down a hill and Margaret said "You're mad!"
13. HAHAHAHA. Mary Bennet, P&P95.
14. Don't know this one...
15. Little Women (1994). As far as character, I think this was the sequence when Jo was writing her story... so I'm not sure.
16. Cranford, and I can't remember the person's name right now...
17. Mmm... nope. It's making me curious, though...
18. YAYYYYY! Emmaaaaaaaaaa.
Um, let me try that again. Emma 2009, Emma Woodhouse. :)
19. Cranford... and I can't remember that person's name either, but I can picture her!
20. Sighhhhh... S&S95, Marianne Dashwood. :) I like this better than on the soundtrack...

And I think the picture might be "Mary Bennet" in Lost in Austen.

This was lovely, Ladybird!! I was hoping for another music game, and never thought about singing in period dramas! Very clever! :)

Melody,
Oh my dear girl, you never fail to make me smile! MMMG indubitably! :)

Let's see, you were completely correct on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (yes, I put down something like that for the singer), 6, 9, 10, 11, 13, 18, 20.

You guessed the correct period drama for 10, 15, 16 and 19 so I'm giving your three points for each of those, you can have two more points for each singing character(s) you guess.

Your guess was incorrect on #8, if you have any other guesses for that or 7, 12, 14 or 17 feel free to guess again. I checked S&S 2008 and you're right, Marianne does sing a bit of #12 in the scene where she's running down the hill! Well spotted!

Current score: 55 points!

Current score: 70 points! :)

Is #8 from Persuasion? If so, then it would be the singer at the concert. It sounds so familiar, I know I shall not rest until I get it! Haha. Very lovely, too. You don't happen to know what the piece is, do you?

I'll be thinking about some character names and hopefully be back.

Melody,
Yes on #8! I don't know what the piece is call, only that it's mentioned to be "a very beautiful Italian love song". I tried researching it once. :(

Oh, I forgot to mention before that you guessed the correct character and film for the photo. Have you seen that?

So your current score is 69 points!
