Screencaps Game: Have You Seen This? {Edition Four}

The First EditionSecond Edition and Third Edition of the twist on everyone's favorite Screencaps Game went really well so I'm doing another one. The screencaps come from period set films that aren't often talked about as much as some of our favorites, but these films are no less delightful! Don't forget to answer the question Have You Seen These? - I really want to hear which of these films you have seen and whether you enjoyed them as much as I do!

To Play: Look at the screencaps below and leave a comment guessing what period dramas they come from. Don't forget to have some fun letting me know which of these period dramas you've seen.

Helpful Hints: Each of these period film titles can be found on my Period Films page. Also, if you aren't sure about a period film but recognize an actor in the screencap feel free to search for possible answers on IMDb.com!

Scoring: 10 points will be awarded for each correctly guessed period drama. 30 points can be earned by correctly answering the Bonus Question on #12. A high score of 150 points can be earned.

Bonus Question: Can you identify these two period drama actors?

Which of these films have you seen?

P.S. I'm working today so it might take me a bit to get back to you with your scores.

Oooh, goody! I love your screencap games, Miss Laurie!

#1 Unfortunately I have no clue, althought that kind of looks like Jeremy Northam.
#2 Horatio Hornblower: Loyalty. The Horatio Hornblower series are my very favourite period dramas ever!
#3 It looks like either the 80's P&P or the 80's Emma, but since I have never seen either, I don't know. I'm going to say Emma.
#4 Um.....The Three Musketeers? That looks like Logan Lerman on the end. I've never seen it- I'm not much into medival movies.
#5 Love Takes Wing. I was about to say the 7th "love movie", as my sisters and I call them, but then I remembered the title. Sometimes it's difficult to remember which ones are which, especially among the later ones, and sometimes I mix up the names just for my own amusement. Love's Unending Dream, Love's Everlasting Hope, la-de-da-de-da... :P
#6 Again, it looks like Jermey Northam! And again I have no clue.:P
#7 ?
#8 ?
#9 Well, that's definitely Rufus Sewell, and he looks like royalty....The Last King? I haven't seen that one.
#10 I think it's either the old Bleak House or the 2001 Nicholas Nickleby, both of which I have not seen....so I shall say Nicholas Nickleby.
#11 Hehe. Treasure Island. Never seen it.
#12 My dear Miss Potter! And that would be Anton Lesser as Fruing Warne and David Bamber as what's-his-name Warne.

How fun, m'dear!

4. The Three Musketeers (2012 with Logan Lerman); I've heard a lot about this movie, and we began watching it as a family but had to take it out because our parental guardian wouldn't cut out the language.

5. Love Takes Wing; seen it!

12. Miss Potter; love this movie! Haha... it's Mr. Collins! He was detestable here, too. :)

Ooh yay! Although this doesn't look like I'm going to do very well on it, heh heh. Well, I'll give it me best shot. :)

1. Thanks to you, I have seen this--The Winslow Boy. :)
2. I don't know what this is, but I do recognize all the actors, so I'll hie me to IMDb... Okayy, so it must be some Horatio Hornblower. But there are at least two that match with those three actors... so I'll be more specific if you want, but if that counts I shan't bother. Haha.
3. Oh, this is that old Emma from the 70's... and yes, I've seen it. Every last dragged-out minute. :P
4. I think that is The Three Musketeers (looks like Matthew MacFadyen's nose yonder :P and also I just looked it up and that dude was Edwin Drood... I KNEW I recognized him) and I haven't seen it.
5. Right... this is a Love Comes Softly movie. Which one, is the question. Hmmm. Love Takes Wing, maybe? And I've seen it. Sometime.
6. Um... haha. Something with Jeremy Northam. *inspects IMDb* Is it An Ideal Husband? And I haven't seen it, obviously.
7. Yeahhhh... I have no idea. :P
8. Persuasion 2007?
9. Hmmm... the guy in front looks familiar but I can't remember what I saw him on so that doesn't help much.
10. Uh... oh! This must be the older Little Dorrit. And I haven't seen it.
11. Hmm... nope.
12. Miss Potter. :) And it's David Bamber... and, well, I could get the other one if I'm allowed to look it up. Am I? ;)

Thanks!

I don't know all of them, but I thought it would be fun to play. I hope you don't mind there are a few I don't know. Here are my guesses:

I'm so glad you've chosen to do another screencap game! I really enjoy them.(Even though I'm not very good at them:)
1) Looks familiar, but I'm not sure what it is.
2)Oh! The Hornblower movies are my very favourites! The screencap is from Duty.
3)I believe it's Emma 1971, but I can't be absolutely sure.
4)The Three Musketeers? I think so because of their attire, and that is Logan Lerman.
5)Love Takes Wing. My sisters and I call these the 'love movies'. I do like the earlier ones, but they've started to get a little weird.
6)An Ideal Husband?
7)I'm not familiar with this one.
8)I don't think I've seen this, and I can't really tell who the actress is.
9) I'm not sure what this is, but that looks like Rufus Sewell to me.
10) Is it the old Little Dorrit?
11) This looks a bit familiar, but I haven't the slightest notion what it is.
12) Miss Potter! I love this film! The one on the right is David Bamber, and I can't name the other one off the top of my head.
I think I've only seen #2,#5 and #12. Perhaps I should look in to seeing some of the others!

The only ones I'm sure of are #1, The Winslow Boy, and #12, Miss Potter. The chap on the right is David Bamber...can't put a name to the other one.

And is #8 the most recent version of Persuasion?

Emma Jane said...

Oh, #2 is from Duty, not Loyalty. Sometimes I get the titles of those two mixed up. Silly girl! And #6 is from An Ideal Husband- it was so ironice because I just watched a movie that had a trailer for that, and when I saw that screencap I was quite surprised!
