One of the funnest things about period dramas is quoting the various witty and charming remarks spoken by some of our favorite characters.
Below are 15 quotes from various period dramas from which I've removed the character's names.
Your job is to guess which period drama the quotes come from and put your answers in a comment.
I'll comment back with your score. Feel free to guess as many times as you wish.
I'll be posting the answers this time next week. Enjoy!

I believe Quote #1 is the obnoxious Mrs. Jennings and she is referring to Lucy, Elinor, and Marianne.Quote #3 is Amy March to Meg March
Quote #4 is Mrs. Gibson to Squire Hamley. I am sure I have seen most of the rest of the movies, but I cannot remember them or the lines, they just sound tantalizingly familiar.
Are we supposed to include the character that said the line?
1. Mrs. Jennings, Sense and Sensibility
2. Henrietta Musgrove, Persuasion
3. Uh.. Anne of Green Gables? Unsure...
4. Amazing Grace. Love this one!
5. Anne to Diana, Anne of Green Gables

You answered quote #4 with an answer that should be for another quote. If you can tell me which film you meant. Feel free to comment again if you can figure out any other quotes.
Miss Dashwood,
Including the characters is good and makes it easier to figure out too! :)
You answered 9 quotes correctly! Your guesses for quotes #3 and #15 were incorrect. And if you care to take a guess on quotes 6, 7, 12 and 14.

In His Wings,
Good guess on #1, you are correct! Your score total is now 12 correct answers. :)
I think I might have guessed #15--is it Martin Chuzzlewit? I am going to keep guessing on this one--it sounds so familiar and yet I can't place it! Ooh, maybe it's Bleak House! It sounds like something Richard might have said (I need to see that again).
#14 isn't the Scarlet Pimpernel, is it?
Miss Dashwood,
I'm sorry but your guesses for quotes #15 and #14 were incorrect. So your score remains at 9 correct.
Oh, I must have made it #4 instead of #10 with Squire Hamley and Mrs. Gibson from Wives and Daughters-oops:P
Okay, so now I know the answer to quote #3. My sisters and I began watching Little Women again tonight, and I can say without a doubt that it's a line by Amy in Little Women (1994).
Miss Dashwood,
Yep, you're correct and #3! :)
That film is one of my family's favorites!
Hmmm.
1:Sense and Sensibility
4: The Young Victoria

Ouch! That's all I know. I'd better go watch more period dramas. :)
And quote 12 is from The Young Victoria
Maria Elisabeth,
You guessed quotes 1, 10 and 12 correctly. You guessed quote 4 incorrectly, sorry. Thanks for playing! :)
My pleasure! What a fun post.
I love period drama's and British tv in general. :)
I think #12 may have been from He Knew He was Right... but it could have been from The Way We Live Now. I'm pretty positive it's Trollope.
Katherine Cox,
No, sorry, quote #12 isn't from either Trollope adaptation. I'll be posting the answers early tomorrow so look out for those. Thanks for playing! :)
