A Happy New Year!

You simply have to read the postcard poem - very sweet!

2011 was quite a year! Many exciting and interesting things happened in both the blogging world and my world too.

In the blogging world:
A total of 203 posts were posted here at Old-Fashioned Charm!
Old-Fashioned Charm has reached 255 followers!
I was interviewed by a couple of people including Jen Corkill at Victorian's Dream.
Miss Elizabeth Bennet and I collaborated on the Period Drama Film Tournament this past Summer.
I held my first blog event in August - Anne Elliot's Birthday Party - and participated in many lovely events at other blogs. (see My Events page)
I hosted my first giveaway in August.
I started a Twitter page for Old-Fashioned Charm.
My Austen Efforts was launched this Fall.

And most importantly, many dear friends were made this past year. It's hard to believe I've only known some of you a little less than a year! Thank you so much for all of your support and encouragement!

In my own life:
I took at least five trips out of state this past year to visit friends and family.
I had a very special time being in my friend's wedding the end of April.
I started caring for my dear elderly friend in June (aka "my job").
I've been writing, reading and crocheting more than ever.
The Lord has blessed in so many other ways it would take too much time to mention everything! God is so good!

My dear readers, you have been a huge part of my life this past year. I am so blessed to have a place and a community of blogging friends who share my love of old-fashioned things, literature, good movies and faith as well. Your comments and participation in various events mean so much to me!
I look forward to more exciting events, interesting discussion and delightful discoveries in 2012!

A very Happy New Year to all! I pray that the year ahead brings closer friendships, new experiences, good health, spiritual growth and many blessings from the good Lord for each of you!

As we move to a new year what blessings, in the blogging world and your own world, are you most thankful for?

oh I'm so happy that you had such a spectacular year, all of those sound like they are treasured memories, I hope you have a wonderful new year. in my own world I am most thankful that my family is now all together, we were apart for nearly a year half here, half somewhere else, it was excruciatingly sad being apart but now we are all back together again, and very happy I might add. in the blogging world I am so thankful for all the friends i have made and all the inspiration I get every day from all of the wonderful blogs I follow
I hope you have a really wonderful new year

So good to hear that you had a wonderful year. I'm thankful for my family...and so much more. Yes, God IS good! :)

I'd like to add that I'm especially thankful (and grateful) for blogs such as yours. In this "internet" world and the "outside" world I try to be careful what I read and watch. Your blog is one of the first one's I check when I go online. Thank you for all you do.
